Louise Crossman - Candidate for Molonglo
Louise Crossman grew up on the NSW Central Coast before moving to Canberra in 2001 to study Arts and Law at the Australian National University.
While at university, Louise was involved in the ANU Students Association. As Education Officer in 2005, she fought to retain student services on campus as a part of the campaign against Voluntary Student Unionism. Louise worked part-time in hospitality to support herself through university and knows about the stress of combining work and study.
Following the completion of her degrees, Louise began work as an Industrial Officer with the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, where she is currently employed in the ACT Branch.
Louise has been an active member of the ACT Hockey community since 2002 as both a player and umpire. She rents an apartment in Braddon and understands that housing affordability is as much about rental costs as it is about mortgages.
Louise is passionate about protecting the health and safety of workers to ensure that people return home to their families at the end of the working day without illness or injury. She is also committed to removing discrimination and other barriers to social inclusion, and believes that protecting the environment is the only way to ensure future social and economic prosperity.
