Chief Minister Katy Gallagher MLA, today marks her 100th day as Chief Minister of the ACT, and has used the occasion to encourage more Canberrans to engage directly with her via a Blog which has been launched today at www.katygallagher.net
The Chief Minister was sworn in on Monday 16 May 2011, and says that she feels incredibly privileged to lead the ACT Government, and has described the first 100 days as an incredibly busy, engaging, challenging and exciting time.
The 100 day milestone for any government is an important one as it provides us with the opportunity to stop and consider what we have achieved already and what more needs to be done, particularly in our key priority areas, the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister has cited securing $144 million of matched Commonwealth investment for the Majura Parkway; signoff on national health reform to deliver an additional $260 million to the ACT health system; and reinvigorating cross border relations with NSW, as just some of the highlights of the last three months.
I have also been pleased to see the Canberra community engage with the work of Government in new ways, like through the first ever Australian Twitter Cabinet which we held in July.
I hope that my Blog, which I am launching today, becomes yet another way that people feel they can connect and engage directly with me and their government and have a greater say in how we can make our community and city an even better place to live, the Chief Minister concluded.
