Option A

Download the ALP Membership Application and Information Form (below) and, if you are paying your membership fee by credit card fax the completed form to the ALP (ACT Branch Office) on 6247 3865 (fax)

If you wish to pay your membership fee by cheque or money order then post your completed application form with payment to:

Or

If you wish to pay your membership fee by cash bring your completed application form with payment into the ALP (ACT Branch) Office, Level 1, 21 Torrens St, Braddon ACT.

Option B

Call our membership hotline on 6247 4066 and request that a Membership Application and Information Pack be sent to you. This pack will provide you an application and all the information you will require to join the ALP including a reply paid envelope.

Option C

Request for an ALP Membership Application and Information Form to be emailed to you by emailing info@act.alp.org.au or you can request that an ALP Membership Application and Information Pack can be sent to you if you provide a postal address.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Who can Join?

 Any person may apply for individual membership of the ACT Branch of the ALP if they are:

• a resident of the ACT; and
• 15 years of age or over; and
• correctly enrolled with the Australian Electoral Commission at their stated address unless not entitled because they are less than 18 years of age or not an Australian citizen.
• a financial member of a union covering their occupation, trade or profession if they are eligible to join a union, or have made all attempts to encourage their employees to join a trade union and the applicant observes union conditions if they are an employer; and
• not a member of any other political party or any organisation proscribed by ACT Branch Conference, unless the organisation is a fellow party of the Socialist International.

Membership Fees (GST inclusive)

The following discounts apply

• Concession card holders [including student cards] - $10.00 discount
• Affiliated union membership - $10.00 discount
• Automatic renewal by credit card - $10.00 discount [provided member does not pay less than $15.00]
• No discounts of more than $20.00
• No one pays less than $5.00

ALP Pledge

As part of your application you are required to sign the following ALP pledge;

I hereby undertake to support the Platform of the Australian Labor Party, to vote for and assist the return of endorsed Australian Labor Party candidates and to abide by the Constitution and Rules of the Australian Labor Party. I confirm that I am not a member of a political party other than the Australian Labor Party.
